To be a great Physical Therapist you need to have a detailed understanding of palpation(touch). Palpation is a skill that can take years to perfect. Palpating (touching) a shoulder for example can tell a therapist many things.
Is the tissue inflamed? Is the tissue taut? Is there muscular imbalances? Is a muscle too short? or is a muscle too long?
Through palpation and other physical examinations our therapists can correctly investigate the shoulder and begin your treatment. Generally, depending on the injury, NeuroMuscular Therapy is the first technique we utilise here at Complete Fitness.


NeuroMuscular Therapy can be used to treat many factors that cause pain:
Movement Dysfunction: For many reasons a person can acquire a faulty movement and gait pattern
Ischemia: Lack of blood supply to soft tissues which causes hypersensitivity to touch
Trigger Points. These are highly irritable areas in muscles which can sometimes refer pain to other parts of the body
Nerve Compression or Entrapment. Sometimes and injured muscle tissue or disc can a irritate the adjacent nerve causing variations of pain.
